Top Barn is a charming converted barn holiday cottage in Monmouthshire, carefully renovated to retain its original stone features while offering modern comforts.
The detached property has its own private access and enjoys wonderful countryside views across the Wye Valley landscape.
Inside the cottage you will find a cosy open-plan living area with a wood burning stove, making it a perfect retreat during colder months. In warmer weather, the south facing patio with barbeque and fire pit provides a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

About Top Barn
Living Area
The light and airy, open plan living space looks out on an ever-changing view through the patio doors. Many of our previous guests have commented on the authentic feel of the barn which has been tastefully renovated with wood flooring throughout and stone features retained. It has a sofa bed and table and chairs, which guests often situate by the patio windows to enjoy the view.
The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for a comfortable self-catering holiday in the Wye Valley, including an oven, hob and microwave.
We provide a welcome pack which usually includes Welsh cakes and local Kymin honey. At times, other local produce such as eggs from our chickens and apples are also available.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
From the lounge, take a walk into bedroom 1 which enjoys panoramic views towards the Black Mountains and beyond.
Enjoy your morning cup of tea in the cosy double bed, or in the warmer weather, take a chair and relax outside in the sun on the patio as nature wakes up around you.
Next to the kitchen area and fully tiled wet room is bedroom 2. The bedroom has original stone walls and views of the garden. It has a single bed with a full-size pull-out trundle single providing flexibility in the accommodation to suit our guests.
Outdoors
The south facing patio is the perfect place to relax at any time of day. Enjoy a barbeque on warm evenings or wrap up during cooler months and admire the clear star-filled skies above the Wye Valley. The Kymin benefits from minimal light pollution, so is an ideal vantage point.
We are close to nature at the Top Barn, and it is not unusual to see rabbits, badgers, foxes, deer and bats in the vicinity or even venturing into the garden in a quiet period for a munch on the grass or hedgerows. We also offer the option for guests to hire a hot tub which can be located on the patio during your stay for that extra special addition to experiencing the view. Please ask for details prior to booking as availability may vary.
